“Large property, with lots of things for the kids to do. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Kids loved the kids club, free arcade, pools, playground and chocolate hour! Breakfast buffet had a huge spread and a little corner for kids to take their own food! Special shoutout to the chef at the beach club! His cooking was very good! Yumz! “Mutiara is not a typical beach resort—it’s a true eco-resort designed with tradition and sustainability in mind. It’s also actively run by the long-time owner—no corporate chains here. The most important things to be prepared for: no AC and no hot water. You sleep in lovely teak and rattan cottages with mosquito nets and plenty of fans. “Rooms are very basic. The linens were not very clean and had stains on them. There was also no view from the window. The staff were not helpful at all. I would recommend looking for other places to stay in the area.”

“Staff was helpful, sometimes information provided was not accurate. The spa was terrible. It was a 1 1/2 hr spa, The massage ladyfies did not seem to have any spa skills. The actual duration was much less than 1 1/2 hrs. The breakfast was good. The flooring all over the place was not even but bumpy. The room flooring seemed to be a slope towards the window.”

More importantly, I did not feel safe in the room. It used a physical key, the doorknob felt unstable, and the window could not be locked at all.
